Professional path
I work at the intersection of journalism, migration, professional identity and institutional trust. For more than 25 years I have created and developed projects that bring human experience into public, professional and research settings.
Several lines connect this history. Journalism made visible how administrative decisions change a life. RUPASS raised the question of preserving professional experience beyond familiar recognition mechanisms. Amerpass continues that work in a transnational and digital environment.
Today I am an independent researcher and the founder and president of Amerpass Foundation. Research offers a way to examine practical experience through institutions, documents, public communication and mechanisms of trust.

Technical studies and early journalism training are two lines that later came together in media, systems and organizational design. Study periods follow the academic CV.

The person and values
I am interested in the whole person: work, experience, decisions, mistakes and the ability to continue a career after major change. This interest runs through migration initiatives, journalism and research on trust.
The move toward research also reflects a question about what remains after years of practice. Accumulated experience continues in papers, collaborations, new projects and The Paper Person.
In describing this work, I have said that I have been engaged in journalism for more than 25 years. The next stage is to pass on that experience while retaining its context and connection to people’s lives.
Civic role
My work concerns public policy: migration governance, labor, information and institutional encounters. Sources from 2009 identify me as an expert of the migration-policy subcommittee of the State Duma CIS committee. This is a historical expert role, not a claim to a present government office.
The principal descriptions on this site remain project founder, independent researcher, journalist, publisher and civic actor. They describe the specific work documented in the biography and archive.
